That driver does this stuff every day and he is still on the platform because uber doesn’t give a shit about him or you. Do you also book flights on frontier and complain when they don’t bring you a hot towel before takeoff? The issue here is that you utilized a service which pays it’s employees under the threshold for providing good customer service. Just drive and be quiet and I will sit quietly and not annoy them either. I don't need to hear about how hard it is, how little Uber is giving them, or reminded that it's their car. Most of the Uber drivers I've ever ridden with are pleasant people who just get me to where I wanted to go. I was so annoyed with all the whining that I didn't avail myself of that offer, which I suspect goes against company policy anyway. Then, when he dropped me off, he gave me his cell phone number to call him to ride back when I was done with my conference. I have no control over what arrangements he has with Uber or what they pay him, and I know it's his time (it's called work), his car, and his gas. The driver asked me how much I had paid for the ride and then continually whined that he was only making about 1/3 of that, it was "his time" and "his car" and he had to pay for gas. I was a trip from Syracuse airport to the Turning Stone resort/casino in upstate NY last week.
